Sanofi maintains an active pipeline with numerous pharmaceutical products and vaccines currently undergoing various stages of development. The company has forged strategic alliances, including a collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline for the development of a recombinant Covid-19 vaccine, a research partnership with Stanford University School of Medicine aimed at advancing immunology and inflammation knowledge, and a collaboration and license option agreement with Prellis Biologics, Inc. Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Paris, France, the company operated as Sanofi-Aventis before rebranding to Sanofi in May 2011.
