The company frequently engages in strategic collaboration agreements to advance its pipeline. Notable partnerships include those with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for researching, developing, and commercializing small molecule medicines targeting obesity; Neurimmune AG for the development and commercialization of NI006; Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to develop eplontersen, a liver-targeted antisense therapy currently in Phase III trials for transthyretin amyloidosis; Proteros Biostructures GmbH for joint discovery of novel small molecules aimed at hematological cancers; and Sierra Oncology, Inc. for the development and commercialization of AZD5153. Incorporated in 1992, the company initially operated as Zeneca Group PLC before adopting its current name, AstraZeneca PLC, in April 1999. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
