Description

Intact Financial Corporation (IFC), through its network of subsidiaries, stands as a leading provider of property and casualty (P&C) insurance. The company delivers its insurance solutions to individuals and businesses across a wide geographic footprint, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, other European countries, and the Middle East. For personal clients, IFC offers a comprehensive suite of insurance products. This encompasses auto coverage for personal vehicles, motor homes, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and all-terrain vehicles. Its personal property policies protect homes and their contents from a range of perils like fire, theft, vandalism, and water damage, while also providing personal liability coverage. These offerings extend to tenants, condominium owners, non-owner occupied residences, and seasonal properties, alongside various other personal lines such as pet insurance. In the commercial sector, the corporation develops tailored insurance programs for small and medium-sized businesses. This includes commercial property coverage to safeguard physical business assets, as well as various liability protections such as commercial general, product, professional, and cyber liability endorsements. Furthermore, IFC provides commercial vehicle insurance, addressing needs for commercial autos, fleets, garage operations, light trucks, public vehicles, and the unique requirements of the sharing economy. Beyond these core segments, Intact Financial also specializes in general insurance, sophisticated risk management solutions, and a diverse portfolio of niche insurance products. These specialized coverages cater to distinct groups and industries, including accident and health, technology, ocean and inland marine, public entities, entertainment, financial services, and various institutions. Additional offerings encompass specialty property, surety bonds, tuition reimbursement, management liability, cyber risk, and environmental insurance. Founded in 1809, the company was initially known as ING Canada Inc. It officially adopted the name Intact Financial Corporation in 2009 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
