Description

Godrej Industries Limited, a diversified Indian conglomerate founded in Mumbai in 1897, conducts extensive operations both domestically and internationally through its numerous subsidiaries. The company maintains a significant footprint across various core sectors, including chemicals, consumer goods, real estate, agriculture, and financial services. Within its chemical division, Godrej Industries manufactures and distributes a range of vital products such as fatty alcohols, fatty acids, esters, waxes, refined glycerine, alpha olefin sulphonates, and various sodium lauryl sulphates (SLS and SLES). Its agricultural undertakings involve the production and sale of specialized compound feeds for cattle, poultry, shrimp, and fish, alongside the refining and trading of vegetable oils and vanaspati. The company also manages oil palm plantations and is active in agri-inputs and seed businesses. Its consumer offerings span hair, home, and personal care products, in addition to dairy product processing, integrated poultry farming, and cattle breeding. Beyond these, Godrej Industries is engaged in real estate development, encompassing the sale, leasing, and licensing of properties. It also provides financial and investment services, notably in housing finance, and contributes to renewable energy generation through its windmill operations. The enterprise, originally established as Godrej Soaps Limited, adopted its current name in April 2001.
