Headquartered in Yokohama, Japan, Keikyu Corporation is a multifaceted enterprise established in 1898. Originally named Keihin Electric Express Railway Co., Ltd. until its rebranding in October 2010, the company operates across diverse sectors including transportation, real estate, leisure, distribution, and various other services. Its transportation division delivers a full spectrum of railway services, complemented by taxi and both shared and chartered bus operations. In the real estate domain, Keikyu undertakes the construction, sale, remodeling, and relocation support for residential properties such as detached houses and condominiums. It also focuses on the development and sale of commercial and office buildings, rental properties, and parking facilities, alongside offering comprehensive real estate leasing, brokerage, and consulting services. The leisure and service segment manages recreational facilities like hot springs, aquariums, yacht harbors, boat racing venues, and golf courses. This part of the business also encompasses advertising agency functions and travel arrangements. For distribution, the company is involved in the operation and management of department stores, shopping centers, convenience stores, and drugstores. It also processes and distributes marine products and prepared food items. Keikyu's extensive portfolio extends further to include the leasing of office and research facilities, and contracting services covering civil engineering, general construction, electrical, telecommunications, and pipe work. They also specialize in the manufacturing, refurbishing, and maintenance of transportation equipment, including trains and automobiles. Additional services comprise condominium management, building maintenance, cleaning, and security solutions. Moreover, the company provides diverse offerings such as living support services, fresh flower retail, nursery school management, and acts as an agent for both life and non-life insurance. Its technological arm is responsible for the design, development, sales, and ongoing maintenance of computer software. Furthermore, Keikyu offers a wide array of ancillary support services, from station cleaning and bicycle parking management to business card creation, futon drying, home delivery reception, data entry, group passenger coordination, accounting, human resources, and temporary staffing.
