Through its Foods, Meat & Grain division, the company deals in a wide spectrum of consumables, including processed and prepared food items, agricultural commodities, meat products, various grains, oilseeds, animal feed, and marine and beverage products. The Steel, Materials & Plant segment focuses on industrial necessities, trading in steel and steel tubing, chemical products, energy resources, plant infrastructure, maritime vessels, machine tools, and heavy industrial machinery. Lastly, the Motor Vehicles & Aerospace segment facilitates trade in automotive parts and vehicles, alongside components for the aerospace industry. Beyond its core trading activities, Kanematsu is also engaged in manufacturing medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and supplies a range of specialized products, including pet food, animal feed ingredients, formulated resins, metal products, and aircraft engines; it also distributes soft drinks via vending machines. Moreover, the corporation extends its services to include insurance brokering, freight forwarding, comprehensive logistics solutions, and the management of warehousing and self-storage facilities. Founded in Tokyo, Japan, in 1889, the company boasts a rich history spanning over a century.
