BetaShares' GEAR ETF offers an efficient method for investors to obtain leveraged exposure to the performance of Australia's broader stock market. This fund operates with "internal gearing," meaning it directly manages all its borrowing commitments. It pools capital from investors with borrowed funds, subsequently deploying these combined assets into a well-diversified equity portfolio consisting of the 200 largest companies listed on the ASX by market capitalization, as measured by the S&P/ASX 200 Index. The fund's leverage ratio, which represents the borrowed amount as a proportion of its total assets, is actively maintained between 50% and 65% on any given day.
