Description

BASF SE functions as a prominent global chemical enterprise. Its extensive operations are structured across six distinct segments: Chemicals, Materials, Industrial Solutions, Surface Technologies, Nutrition & Care, and Agricultural Solutions. The Chemicals division supplies fundamental building blocks such as petrochemicals and intermediates. The Materials segment delivers sophisticated materials and their foundational components, including isocyanates and polyamides, alongside essential inorganic products and specialized items for the plastics and plastics processing industries. Industrial Solutions is responsible for creating and distributing a wide array of ingredients and additives for various industrial uses, encompassing polymer dispersions, pigments, resins, electronic materials, antioxidants, light stabilizers, oilfield chemicals, mineral processing agents, and hydrometallurgical chemicals. The Surface Technologies unit provides specialized chemical solutions primarily for the automotive and chemical sectors. This encompasses offerings like refinish coatings, surface treatments, catalysts, battery materials, and handling of precious and base metals for automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The Nutrition & Care segment supplies vital ingredients to manufacturers in the food, animal feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, detergent, and cleaning product sectors. Lastly, the Agricultural Solutions division delivers a comprehensive portfolio of crop protection products and seeds, ranging from fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides to biological crop solutions and specialized seed treatments. Furthermore, the company maintains a strategic alliance with Contemporary Amperex TechnologyCo., Limited, focusing on battery material innovations, specifically cathode active materials and battery recycling processes. Tracing its origins back to 1865, BASF SE maintains its principal headquarters in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany.
