The company also specializes in producing various specially-equipped vehicles, such as its rider series, taxis, ambulances, children's school buses, and refrigerated vans, alongside general vehicle parts and other components. Beyond vehicle production, Nissan Shatai's operations extend to the pressing and assembly of automotive components, as well as the molding and assembly of resin products. Complementing its manufacturing activities, the company provides a suite of services, including machinery maintenance and servicing, equipment installation, logistics solutions, system and program development, and temporary staffing. Established in 1937 and headquartered in Hiratsuka, Japan, the company adopted its current name, Nissan Shatai Co., Ltd., in June 1971, having previously been known as Nissan Shatai Koki Co., Ltd.
