Description

Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd., along with its subsidiary companies, is a global enterprise based in Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1916 and originally known as Nihon Kayaku Seizou Co., Ltd. until its rebranding in 1945, the company specializes in the development, manufacturing, and sale of a diverse range of products across several key sectors. Its Functional and Chemical Business segment supplies advanced materials, including epoxy and UV-curable resins, sealants for LCD and LED screens, maleimide resins, photoresists, and insulating materials crucial for micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), as well as various cleaning agents. This division also produces a variety of colorants, such as inkjet pigments, textile and paper dyes, and materials used in thermal paper. Furthermore, it manufactures catalysts for acrylic and methacrylic acid production, alongside optical and analytical components like polarizing films, inorganic polarizers, parts for liquid crystal displays and projectors, and components for X-ray analysis. The Pharmaceuticals Business segment focuses on healthcare, offering a portfolio that includes anti-cancer and cancer-related medications, biosimilars, generic drugs, interventional radiology products, and cardiovascular treatments. It also provides bulk pharmaceuticals, drug intermediates, and cancer diagnostic agents, notably featuring GlycoMark, a specialized marker for managing blood sugar levels in diabetes. In the Safety Systems Business segment, the company develops and produces critical automotive safety components, such as airbag inflators, micro gas generators for seatbelt pretensioners, and squibs. Finally, the Agrochemicals Business segment provides solutions for agricultural and public health needs, encompassing agricultural insecticides, herbicides, soil fumigants, and products designed for insanitary pest control. Beyond these core industrial activities, Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. also manages real estate leasing services.
