Sime Darby Berhad operates as a diversified investment holding company with a significant presence across Malaysia and international markets. Its extensive portfolio spans industrial, automotive, logistics, healthcare, and various other sectors. Within its industrial division, the company is involved in the production, assembly, and distribution of generators, alongside agricultural and industrial machinery. It offers end-to-end security solutions, encompassing marketing, installation, rental, and maintenance. Furthermore, Sime Darby deals with electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, instruments, and integrated systems. A key aspect of its industrial operations includes acting as a dealer for Caterpillar, handling sales, rentals, and assembly of equipment and spare parts, as well as reconditioning used machinery. The company also supplies advanced global positioning and machine control systems for heavy and highway construction, distributes lift trucks and their components, and services other material handling equipment. It imports and retails a broad array of technical, nautical, scientific, mechanical, electrical, and electronic instruments, as well as survey and marine equipment. Additional industrial offerings include specialized components like heat exchangers, radiators, process equipment modules, filters, and separators. The company provides training and security services, alongside consulting, installation, operational, repair, and maintenance services for industrial machinery, equipment, and vehicles. The automotive segment focuses on the manufacturing, sale, and distribution of passenger and light commercial vehicles and their spare parts. It also imports and distributes motor vehicles and provides vehicle rental services. General investment activities also form part of the company's broader business. Its logistics arm delivers port and warehousing services, complemented by tugboat piloting, container handling, property management, and childcare facilities. Sime Darby also develops and manages logistics parks. In healthcare, the company operates hospitals. Other services include insurance and reinsurance brokerage, advisory services, the distribution of Trimble technical solutions, and comprehensive engineering, procurement, construction, installation, hook-up, and commissioning (EPCIC) services tailored for the oil and gas industry. Sime Darby Berhad was established in 1910 and is headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
