Description

Tosoh Corporation is a global producer and supplier of a broad spectrum of chemical products, including basic chemicals, petrochemicals, specialty items, and fine chemicals. It conducts its business through four principal divisions: Petrochemical, Chlor-Alkali, Specialty, and Engineering. The company's extensive product catalog includes advanced materials such as battery components, engineered quartzware, silica glass, thin-film deposition materials, zeolites for catalysis and molecular sieving, and a variety of zirconia-based items (e.g., molded components, grinding media, and fine powders). Tosoh also provides specialized chromatographic columns and media, clinical diagnostic systems, and construction-grade products like Portland and blast-furnace slag cements. Its chemical offerings span the Chlor-Alkali segment with products like caustic soda, vinyl chloride monomer, calcium hypochlorite, and sodium bicarbonate; and the Petrochemical sector with ethylene, propylene, C4 fractions, tertiary butyl alcohol, cumene, and aromatic compounds. Additionally, it develops and supplies a host of specialty chemicals, including ethyleneamines, bromine compounds, hydrobromic acids, flame retardants, non-aqueous solvents, and chelating agents. Tosoh's polymer portfolio features diverse types including ethylene vinyl-acetate copolymers, adhesive polymers, low and high-density polyethylenes, synthetic rubbers, functional polymers, and polyvinyl chloride pastes. It is also a key manufacturer of polyurethanes, offering a range of diisocyanates (MDI, TDI, HDI), polyisocyanates for paints, polyols, adhesives, coating resins, and elastomers. Complementing its manufacturing activities, the company provides water treatment systems, undertakes construction and repair projects, and delivers essential corporate services encompassing logistics, analytical testing, human resources management, and information technology.
