Description

Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, and established in 1996, Stora Enso Oyj delivers sustainable solutions globally to the packaging, biomaterials, timber construction, and paper sectors. The company's operations are structured into several key segments: Its Packaging Materials division provides renewable and recyclable virgin and recycled fiber materials for packaging in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and transportation industries. The Packaging Solutions segment specializes in developing and supplying a wide array of fiber-based packaging products and services. These include corrugated and carton boards, design support, automation systems, and innovative materials like formed fiber and wood foams, targeting retail, e-commerce, and industrial applications. Biomaterials focuses on offering various grades of pulp for producers of paper, board, tissue, textiles, and hygiene products, alongside bio-based chemicals such as tall oil and turpentine. Through its Wood Products segment, Stora Enso offers timber-based solutions, encompassing digital tools for building design, sawn lumber, and pellets for heating, as well as components for windows, doors, and general packaging. The Forest segment is dedicated to sustainable forest management and the supply of wood. Paper produces paper products primarily for printing and office use. Finally, the Other segment holds an equity stake in Pohjolan Voima Oy, a utility involved in electricity and heat generation. Stora Enso serves a diverse customer base, including packaging manufacturers, brand owners, paper and board producers, publishers, retailers, printing houses, converters, joinery specialists, and construction companies.
