In a collaborative effort with PlantEXT Ltd., the company is involved in the research and production of pioneering medical cannabis suppositories, specifically designed for individuals afflicted with inflammatory bowel disease. Originally incorporated as Johnston Acquisition Corp., the firm adopted its current name, Rafarma Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in October 2012. While headquartered in Sandy, Utah, its primary manufacturing and distribution operations are situated in Russia. Since October 19, 2020, Rafarma Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has functioned as a subsidiary of R. & D. Biocogency Laboratories Inc. Ltd.
