Description

Prysmian S.p.A., together with its affiliates, operates as a global leader in the production, distribution, and sale of diverse cables, cabling systems, and related accessories. The company primarily serves the energy and telecommunications sectors worldwide. Its extensive operations are divided into three main business units: Projects, Energy, and Telecom. The Projects segment is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of high and extra-high voltage cables crucial for transmitting electricity from power plants and throughout transmission and primary distribution grids. This encompasses advanced high-voltage cabling systems for both terrestrial and submarine environments, specialized submarine cables for power transmission and distribution, and various data transmission cables. Additionally, it supplies umbilical cables, which integrate hoses with electrical, optical, and signaling components for managing oil wells. This segment also delivers comprehensive services for establishing interconnections, both on land and subsea, linking different countries and connecting offshore wind farms to the mainland for power generation and distribution. The Energy segment caters to traders and installers, providing solutions like power distribution and overhead transmission lines. It also offers a broad range of industrial and network components tailored for diverse industries such as oil and gas, downhole technology, elevators, automotive, nuclear, mining, marine, water, infrastructure, renewable energy, military, railways, and crane systems. Moreover, this segment delivers sophisticated asset monitoring solutions. Within the Telecom segment, Prysmian manufactures essential cable systems and connectivity products for telecommunication networks. These offerings include optical fiber, optical cables, various connectivity components and accessories, optical ground wires, and traditional copper cables. Prysmian S.p.A. was established in 1879 and is headquartered in Milan, Italy.
