Established in 1921 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, The Beard Company formerly engaged in a diverse range of business activities across the United States. Its operations included a Carbon Dioxide segment, responsible for producing and distributing carbon dioxide gas in Colorado and New Mexico. The Oil and Gas division focused on the exploration, development, production, and sale of oil and natural gas, possessing non-operated working interests or overriding royalty interests in active wells across Colorado and Wyoming, as well as undeveloped oil and gas leases in those states and Mississippi. A Coal Reclamation segment operated facilities for reclaiming coal fines and offered specialized services such as slurry pond core drilling, fine coal laboratory analysis, and consulting. Furthermore, an e-Commerce segment held a "Voucher" patent, which it licensed on a royalty basis. The Beard Company, Inc. filed for Chapter 7 liquidation on October 12, 2012, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, and remains in liquidation.
