Birla Corporation Limited, established in 1919 and headquartered in Kolkata, India, is a diversified manufacturer. Known formerly as Birla Jute Manufacturing Company Limited until its rebranding in 1998, the company primarily produces and distributes various types of cement across India, including Ordinary Portland, Portland Pozzolana, and Portland slag. These are marketed under several MP Birla Cement brands, such as Perfect Plus, Samrat Advanced, and Ultimate Ultra, and are vital components in major infrastructure projects like bridges, dams, railway systems, industrial facilities, and airport runways. Beyond its significant cement operations, Birla Corporation also maintains a substantial presence in the jute industry. It manufactures a broad spectrum of jute products, ranging from yarns and decorative fabrics to various types of bags, carpets, and non-woven felts, which find applications in items like mats, ropes, and packaging. Additionally, its "Others" segment encompasses the production of iron and steel castings. The company not only serves the Indian domestic market but also engages in the export of its products.
