Sumitomo Osaka Cement Co., Ltd. operates as a manufacturer of cement, serving markets both within Japan and globally. Within its Cement division, the company provides a range of cement products, including various types of cement and ready-mix concrete, alongside materials for cement-based solidification. This segment also generates and supplies electricity and undertakes the recycling of raw materials and fuels. The Mineral Resources sector is responsible for furnishing essential materials such as limestone and dolomite, which find application in cement production, steelmaking, various industrial processes, quicklime manufacturing, and fertilizers. It also delivers aggregates crucial for road construction and diverse civil engineering projects, calcium carbonate utilized in power plant flue gas desulfurization and highly fluid concrete mixtures, and silica powder employed in a variety of cement-based items like exterior wall and roofing materials. Furthermore, this division distributes its offerings to Asian markets. The Cement-Related Products division focuses on producing and distributing materials used for repairing and strengthening concrete structures. Beyond this, it actively engages in the innovation of solutions for addressing heavy metal contamination, safeguarding concrete infrastructure, creating artificial marine habitats (such as reefs and fish/seaweed beds), implementing electrolytic protection techniques, developing pre-stressed concrete (PC) products and systems, and manufacturing a range of hume concrete pipes. The Optoelectronics division specializes in the production and sale of various optical products, including devices and components for optical communication, optical measurement instruments, and optical transceivers. Through its Advanced Materials sector, the company provides sophisticated offerings such as ceramic components designed for semiconductor fabrication machinery, nanoparticle-based substances, antibacterial compounds, cosmetic ingredients, and high-performance paints. The Battery Materials division is dedicated to supplying cathode materials for rechargeable batteries. Finally, the Other operations segment encompasses real estate leasing, the provision of engineering expertise, and software development. Established in 1907, Sumitomo Osaka Cement Co., Ltd. maintains its primary corporate office in Tokyo, Japan.
