Description

Kissei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. specializes in the discovery, development, production, and commercialization of pharmaceutical products, with a primary focus on the Japanese market. Its marketed pharmaceuticals encompass Urief and Urief OD tablets, designed to alleviate dysuria. For type 2 diabetes, it provides Glufast, Glubes, and Marizev tablets. Treating renal anemia, the company offers Darbepoetin Alfa BS and Epoetin Alfa BS injections. Beova tablets are available for managing overactive bladder, while hyperphosphatemia patients can utilize P-TOL chewable tablets. Furthermore, Minirin Melt OD tablets address a range of conditions including nocturia caused by nocturnal polyuria in males, central diabetes insipidus, and nocturnal enuresis stemming from reduced urine osmolality. Kissei maintains a robust product pipeline, featuring KPS-0373, which has successfully completed Phase III clinical trials for spinocerebellar ataxia, and CCX168, also a completed Phase III candidate, targeting microscopic polyangiitis and granulomatosis with polyangiitis. Currently undergoing Phase III trials are AJM300 for ulcerative colitis, R788 for chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, and MR13A9 to alleviate uremic pruritus in dialysis patients. Other investigational compounds include KLH-2109 for endometriosis and uterine fibroids, KDT-3594 for Parkinson's disease, Silodosin addressing dysuria linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia, Mitiglinide for type 2 diabetes mellitus, and Bedoradrine for the management of acute asthma exacerbations. Beyond its pharmaceutical endeavors, Kissei also manufactures and markets specialized nutritional products, such as protein-controlled and energy-supplying foods, and engages in the procurement and sale of associated raw materials. Furthermore, the company extends its operations to include system development, information processing, construction services, equipment and facility oversight, alongside information collection and development assistance. Founded in 1946 as Kissei Yakuhin Kogyo Co., Ltd., the company adopted its present name, Kissei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., in October 1964. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Matsumoto, Japan.
