The company is a key producer and distributor of a broad array of products, including cellulosic derivatives, organic chemicals, diverse plastics, and pyrotechnic devices. Its extensive activities are organized into distinct segments: Medical/Healthcare, Smart, Safety, Materials, Engineering Plastics, and other specialized areas. In the Medical/Healthcare sector, Daicel supplies various cosmetic components such as 1,3-Butylene glycol, polyglycerin, and thickeners, in addition to natural health food ingredients and dietary supplements. For the pharmaceutical industry, it provides specialized chiral and achiral columns, a variety of chiral and bio reagents, and DNA/RNA-based probes, supported by comprehensive analytical, purification, synthesis, formulation, and specialized analytical tool services. It further develops specialty chemicals such as cycloaliphatic epoxies, caprolactone, ketene derivatives, and alkylamines, which are vital for electrical materials and coatings. For the Engineering Plastics segment, Daicel delivers a wide selection of plastic solutions, encompassing engineering plastics, plastic compound products, functional sheets, molded trays, and packaging films. Beyond these core offerings, the company also produces water treatment systems and diffusers tailored for diverse industrial requirements. Daicel's comprehensive portfolio plays a crucial role in various sectors, including transportation, electronics, medical care, personal care, daily life, and environmental and energy applications.
