Description

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. is a diversified chemical enterprise operating across key sectors including mobility, healthcare, food and packaging, and basic materials. Within its Mobility division, it develops and supplies elastomers, various performance compounds, and functional polymers primarily for automotive and industrial applications, alongside offering related development services. The Health Care segment furnishes materials for optical products, nonwovens, dental procedures, and general personal care. Its Food and Packaging unit delivers specialized coating and engineering materials, high-performance films and sheets, and agrochemical solutions. The Basic Materials division is a significant producer of foundational chemicals such as ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, catalysts, phenols, purified terephthalic acid (PTA), PET, and polyurethane intermediates, in addition to other industrial chemicals. Beyond these core areas, Mitsui Chemicals' extensive product portfolio extends to civil engineering and construction materials, cosmetic ingredients, various adhesives (for wood and paper), foliar activators, a broad range of polyolefin and urethane resins and films, injection molding equipment, phosphoric acid, and fertilizers. Further offerings include spunbonded nonwoven fabrics, synthetic fibers, monomers for optical lenses, and a variety of fine and inorganic chemicals. The company also provides comprehensive technical services, encompassing performance analysis, physical property measurements, and safety evaluations for chemicals. Furthermore, its ancillary operations include personnel placement, temporary staffing, insurance and travel services, consignment business, and the sale of electronics and information technology materials. Mitsui Chemicals maintains a robust global sales network, serving markets in Japan, China, the wider Asian region, the Americas, and Europe. The company was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1892, where it continues to maintain its corporate headquarters.
