The company's specialized ventures include producing and marketing thermal paper for various uses such as food labels and tickets, crafting watches, and developing advanced healthcare and sensing technologies. These encompass magnetoencephalography (MEG) systems for brain activity measurement, indoor positioning services, bed sensor systems, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), integrated medical care platforms, and genetic testing materials. Ricoh's service offerings comprise managed print solutions, application and business process management, communication services, intelligent workplace strategies, and general information technology support. The company also participates in the energy sector, handling solar power facility operations and maintenance, and selling electricity. Catering to numerous industries, including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, real estate, travel and tourism, and engineering and construction, Ricoh Company, Ltd. was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1936 as Riken Optical Co., Ltd., and rebranded to its current name in 1963.
